A house with neutral tones and a lot of style in the decoration

Ly and Will lived for years on rent until they found the ideal space to turn into a home. Slowly and gradually investing, the couple printed their identity in every corner of the house with Pinterest references and many DIY ideas. And despite the predominance of neutral tones, the environments of this residence lavish a lot of style, see more:

Type of residence: condominium house

Area: 70 m²

City: Araucaria, Paraná

Residents: Married, Ly and Will share a home with the puppy Berlin and the mini rabbit Kyra. She is a municipal civil servant and he is a metallurgist. The two also have a hand-painted porcelain shop and confess that they love making art on the walls.

Differential: Always excited about a renovation or a DIY idea, the couple looks for references on social media and decoration programs to compose the environments. Ly and Will say that they do not have a defined style “we like to walk through the minimalist and Scandinavian aesthetics with neutral colors, straight lines and a bit of the industrial”. In addition to being always willing to get their hands dirty, the two also love plants and a dash of affective decoration.

Ly and Will’s dream house

RESIDENCE TWO

About the once dreamed home, the couple says: “what caught our attention when we found this place, was the fact that we had a backyard and a legal reserve right behind the house”. Thus, even before construction, the two fell in love with the space of their future home and today, with a house full of plants, they joke that they have “a private jungle”. As for the challenges in decorating, they agree that the biggest one is space, “it’s like playing a puzzle thinking about where each thing will be or what will impact each change, but it’s something we really like to do.”

Lavish, step-by-step decoration

RESIDENCE TWO

The couple says that the decoration was happening little by little and slowly each corner took shape, “when we get the keys, we often realize that it is not possible to do everything at once”. And they add “in a way this was also very cool, because it allowed us to think well before each choice we were making, to evaluate if it was really that”.

White and gold in the kitchen

RESIDENCE TWO

In the kitchen, the choice was white, which prevails as the dominant tone and brings breadth to the space. The highlight is the golden details on the furniture and fixtures.

Charming subway tiles

RESIDENCE TWO

For the wall covering, the couple opted for the famous subway tiles. Wooden boards are simply decorated and are always on hand to prepare the next meal.

A bookshelf full of memories

RESIDENCE TWO

In the circulation between the kitchen and the living room there is a wall of burnt cement and a bookcase made with racks. On the shelves, the couple keeps a little bit of everything and displays items that have great meaning for both of them, “objects that we brought from a trip, that were important at some stage of our life or that came from a loved one”, they say.

Stories and memories on the walls

RESIDENCE TWO

And so, the couple’s story also mixes with the decoration of the house, as in this other designed wall that evolves according to the experiences and important things for the two, “the truth is that it is not finished yet and in reality, this was her goal, to add things we like, that represent us as we live, places we’ve been and mark us for some reason”, explains Ly.

Coziness and shades of gray in the room

RESIDENCE TWO

The living room oozes comfort with gray walls and furniture. In the photo, Berlin, the couple’s puppy, enjoys all the warmth of the environment.

A Pinterest Room

RESIDENCE TWO

Ly and Will also love looking for decorating ideas from Pinterest and using elements that print their style to make everything their own. In the double bedroom, the composition of neutral colors is balanced with softness and the decorative items add personality to the environment.

Sweet dreams for the couple

RESIDENCE TWO

Details make a difference in the composition and guarantee a cozy atmosphere for the room. Highlight for the dream catcher next to the bed.

Botanical references and affective objects

RESIDENCE TWO

Still in the room, botanical references and plants also decorate the environment along with objects that bring memories and have great affective value for both of them.

super charming bathroom

RESIDENCE TWO

The couple does not hide their passion for plants and in every environment there is a very green representative, even in the bathroom. To compose the space, in addition to neutral colors, they chose the famous Adnet mirror, references of the industrial style and bet on hexagonal coatings for the walls.

With an amazing roof

RESIDENCE TWO

But in the bathroom, what really steals the show is the black ceiling with drawings of the universe! Ly and Will believe that “it doesn’t have to be the same to be cool” and so they decided to dare and bet on creativity for the decoration of the environment.

Time to relax

RESIDENCE TWO

The house also has a small backyard with a hanging rocking chair that the couple can enjoy relaxing or having tea.

A dream come true

RESIDENCE TWO

Ly and Will enjoy every corner of the house with the certainty that their greatest wish has been fulfilled: “when we got married, even before we moved into this house, we knew we wanted a place with our identity, that was our real home”.
