Residence type: apartment
Area: 57 m²
City: Hortolândia, SP
Residents: Ana and Rafael bought the apartment and have lived in it for 3 years. She is an administrator and appreciates fine wines and crafts. He is a telecommunications engineer and is always attuned to new technologies. Along with the two also lives Cookie, the family pet.
Differential: Ana says that she is a lover of the industrial, minimalist and contemporary style, and that is where the essence of her home decoration came from: “the biggest differential of the project is the union of the urban industrial style with light and minimalist colors”. And she says that the most attention-grabbing thing about the house is “without a doubt the 12m² brick wall”, she also points out the locksmith furniture and the burnt cement walls of the apartment.
Ana and Rafael’s apartment:
Planning the decoration in just 57m² was not simple, “the biggest challenge of the project was the structural walls that could not be broken during the work, making it difficult to integrate the environments”, explains the couple. So, to induce a greater sense of spaciousness, they chose to use a monochromatic and light palette. But, that didn’t stop Ana and Rafael from playing with the tones, like the entrance door colored with a grayish blue.
Marble and iron in the decoration
For the dining room, they chose an oval table in Carrara, “in addition to bringing out the beauty of marble, it also optimized the circulation space”.
places for everyone
To accommodate all visitors, there is a Provencal style bench. The leather and iron chairs, according to Ana, “bring an industrial and more urban style” to the decor.
Special decoration details
The resident also took advantage of the bench to bring details in the decoration, “with a camera in crockery and a picture of adam’s rib that I love”.
a lit bar
The two prepare a special corner for coffee and drinks. The locksmith cart was made to measure, as was the neon sign. “It is the most loved place in the apartment”, they reveal.
A touch of warmth with wood
In the living room, she says that “the idea was to keep the gray tone, but with the warmth of the wood that comes with the slatted panel ”. The support furniture, also in wood, has iron profiles as a support that perfectly match all the rest of the industrial-style decoration.
Furniture that steals the show
Another highlight in the room is the side table, “it’s all in aged metal and its top in wood”, describes Ana.
Good drinks on the gourmet balcony
And to make everything more pleasant, they also invested in plants in the decoration. On the green wall on the balcony, Ana explains, “it is an immense panel preserved with dehydrated natural leaves”. And she adds, “together with the Acapulco bench and a beautiful string of light, it brings a super cool and attractive air to drinks nights”.
Clean and urban kitchen
About the kitchen, they are total love. Ana says that the cabinets follow a straighter line, in a gray tone and with wooden details.
The charm of the white subway
For the covering of the space and to maintain the industrial air, the option chosen by the duo was the white subway tile.
Organization and practicality
The practicality is also evident in the environment, “we have a shelf for a mini vegetable garden and others in wood for the most used crockery in everyday life”.
Optimization to the max
Attached to the kitchen is the service area, Ana says it is a mini-laundry room full of charm, “it was designed to take advantage of all possible spaces.
Nordic office decor
The apartment also has an environment used as an office, “we follow the same proposal with light colors, bringing a tone of the same wood present in all environments”. Highlight for the Nordic rug that is darling of both.
Light colors and minimalism in objects
Light colors and straight lines dominate in the master bedroom. “We chose a white panel in a Provencal frame and more minimalist lamps”.
phrases in decoration
A literary touch, personalizes the space. “It’s a reinterpreted phrase by Machado de Assis”, says Ana about the painting.
large mirror in the bedroom
Another favorite of the couple is the mirror at the entrance of the room, all carved in wood. In addition to charm, the piece also brings amplitude to the environment.
plants in the bathroom
In the bathroom, a surprise with a preserved garden, “is the center of attention, everyone who enters is surprised by the warmth that the plants bring to the bathroom”, says Ana.
