The apartment was the achievement of an old dream for Mady and Felipe. Excited about the new acquisition, she started looking for inspiration on the internet and soon had everything planned in her head (and on paper), so that the spaces were the way she wanted. The size of the 56m² apartment did not intimidate the couple, who adopted practical and functional solutions to enjoy every corner, check it out:
Residence type: apartment
Area: 56 m2
City: Porto Alegre, RS
Residents: only Mady, who is a financial manager, and Felipe, a military musician, live in the apartment. Since acquiring the apartment, she started a social profile, “ @apê904a was born from the desire to share this joy and help those who are starting their renovation”.
Differential: Mady says that it was through searches on Pinterest and Instagram that she began to discover different tastes and styles. She doesn’t limit herself and says “our style is very eclectic, it’s a mix of several in a single space. We like industrial, Scandinavian, boho chic, all together and mixed, that’s how the decor of our apartment came about”. As it is a small apartment, the couple also had to make good use of each space, “this was a very important point taken into account when designing the furniture”.
Mady and Felipe’s apartment: 56m² well used
With no money left for the renovation, soon after the purchase of the apartment, the couple’s family helped a lot “both financially and by getting their hands dirty”. Mady also recalls that she ended up selling the car to finish everything, “it was a challenge, but it was necessary”. Finally, after a lot of effort and dedication, the apartment was exactly as she wanted and highlights her kitchen, fully open and integrated, and the brick wall, which she had long dreamed of.
Cabinets and LED strip
“In the kitchen, we made a countertop with a built-in cupboard and an extra cupboard to store brooms and cleaning products,” explains Mady. She also reveals that the hood is built in. In addition, an LED strip under the cabinets collaborates with the decoration and helps to make the space well lit.
Integrated kitchen with laundry
To optimize the environment, Mady opted for the full integration of the kitchen with the laundry room and made a single bench, without divisions. She also dispensed with the clothesline in the service area and, she says, “it worked really well, as most clothes dry in the dryer, so there are no clothes hanging and I can always keep them organized”.
Decorative brick wall
The flooring chosen by Mady for the living room was Tijolinho Terracota Carvão, from Passeio Revestimentos. About this wall, she says “it’s my favorite and it brings a little rustic-industrial style to the apartment, matching the color of the floor.”
Coatings full of personality
“Without a doubt, the brick wall and the porcelain tile on the floor gave the apartment personality, as these coatings decorate the environment by themselves”, adds Mady.
Open concept between living room and kitchen
To bring the feeling of spaciousness to the social area, the couple wanted an open kitchen and used wood floors throughout the space. The countertop was made of Silestone and features high stools for quick meals.
Industrial design furniture
The pendant and the table follow the industrial line and are accompanied by the charming Adnet mirror that reflects the brick wall. The chairs are Eames model.
Extra seating and coziness in the living room
Puffs guarantee extra places in the room and are strategically stored in the space below the rack. Roman blinds bring privacy and control natural lighting when needed. Mady added plants for a touch of freshness and added cushions and a basket to ensure the coziness.
burnt cement effect
The TV was installed directly on the wall, without a panel, and Mady says the wires go through the inside of the wall. The texture is of burnt cement.
mirror for amplitude
In the social bathroom, Mady chose a carved basin with a tilting cabinet and a shelf. To ensure a well-decorated space, she uses comics, plants and pendants with filament lamps. The mirror across the wall is a simple trick that brings a feeling of greater space to the small room.
bathroom for the couple
In the couple’s bathroom, the good solutions are repeated with the combination of carved sink and cabinet, as well as the mirror all over the wall. The difference in this space is the LED strip at the bottom of the mirror.
Neutral room and bed
The double bedroom has a very clean proposal that makes the most of the space, “the bedroom wardrobes were made to take advantage of the corners”, says Mady. She also reveals that she loves to play with the colors on the bedding and every week she sets up a different bed.
Closet and reading corner
The other bedroom is used only as a closet and has wardrobes all along the wall. In this environment, Mady also placed an armchair and a side table “to rest and read a book.”
An organized and loving home
In the photo, Mady poses in her bedroom, next to one of the things she likes to organize in the house: her bed. About sharing her renovation journey, her home environments and her routine, she says “here we not only share experiences, dreams and many inspirations, here we share love”.
