Patrícia and Marco are nature lovers and, together with their children, made their dream of living surrounded by the beauties of the countryside come true. The couple built their refuge in a condominium of farms and favored simple, rustic, efficient and economical materials. In the cozy house, in the countryside, they live a quiet life away from the tribulations of the city. See more:
Type of residence: house in a condominium of small farms
Area: 230 m²
City: Campinas, SP
Residents: Patrícia and Marco are project managers at a multinational company and live with their 4-year-old son Gael. There is also Arthur, Marco’s son, who lives abroad, but always comes to spend his holidays at the residence. The family also shares the home with 3 dogs: Shiza, Shiro and Nicco.
Differential: the entire design of the project came from the couple and, with the help of local professionals, the construction was carried out. The house was almost entirely built with rustic and simple materials, but for the bedrooms, Patrícia and Marco opted for cellular concrete to ensure a more pleasant temperature inside. They also explored the open concept in the composition of the environments, with high ceilings and apparent structure. For them, the main challenge was building the structure with eucalyptus trees: “it took a lot of work, it took much longer, but in the end it came out”.
An inspiring country house
Patrícia and Marco have always been passionate about the rustic style and environments full of simplicity, lightness and warmth. The goal, according to the couple, was to build “a house that hugs you when you enter it”. For this, they bet on materials such as bricks, wood and hydraulic tiles. In addition, the two also prioritized natural lighting, airy environments and the integration of spaces.
Rustic and simple materials
“Colonial straw colored clay bricks, treated eucalyptus logs and cedar wood lining” are the main materials listed by the couple for the composition of the social space of the house.
Wood furniture and earthy tones
As for the decoration, the choice was wooden furniture and earthy tones, which make the environment more welcoming.
Visual integration with nature
Another material that stands out is glass. According to Patrícia, he is one of the main protagonists of the project and responsible for “bringing natural light into the house and allowing this visual integration with the pulsating nature outside”.
Spacious and airy spaces
The couple also talks about the high ceiling, with 5 meters at the highest point, and says that this choice was made “precisely to make the environments more airy and lit.”
Integrated social space
The entire social area is integrated, and the kitchen, living room and gourmet area interrelate in a fluid and uniform way.
Kitchen with wood stove
Patrícia and Marco do not give up good homemade food and, thus, the kitchen has a wood stove that conquers all eyes and palates.
Gourmet area for the whole family
Attached to the kitchen is the gourmet area, which provides good moments of relaxation for the family. In this space, good food is also guaranteed with a modern glass grill and the traditional wood oven.
Country life also calls for a break! In a corner of the social space, the couple prepared a counter for coffee and other drinks for any occasion. The blue hutch brings a light and cheerful touch to the decor.
Bright colors in the bathroom
In the bathroom, the vivid and intense colors draw attention. But the detail that steals the show is the stone fountain used as a vat.
A colorful bathroom for the couple
Joy and simplicity appear in every room in the house, including the couple’s bathroom. For the floor, Patrícia and Marco chose colored hydraulic tiles. The rustic touch is on account of the beautiful wooden bench.
Cozy and rustic room
The double bedroom oozes rustic charm with an antique chest, a wooden stool and a mirror on the floor. Prints, wood finishes and warm color accents add an essential dose of coziness.
A charming bedside table
Beside the bed, Patricia has placed a bedside table with an aged look that is pure enchantment. A simple floral arrangement and a lamp simply complement the decor.
green on all sides
The house is surrounded by nature from the outside. Indoors, plants like the amazing vanda orchids bring some green inside too.
A large backyard to enjoy
Having a large backyard to enjoy the outdoors was the couple’s wish: “Both Marco and I are nature lovers and, therefore, our dream was to live surrounded by it”, says Patrícia.
Pool for swimming and relaxing
To optimize the external space and take advantage of the terrain’s topography, they say they chose “to make a lane-shaped pool, with a little beach.” So it is possible to swim, have fun or just relax in the water.
Lavender scented beds
Fragrant lavender are used in the side gardens of the residence and bring all the charm of the countryside.
Paths through the garden
To compose the paths and guide the steps through the garden, pebbles and wooden sleepers were used.
The family loves animals and, in addition to the 3 pet dogs, they also run a chicken coop with around 25 hens and two roosters.
A complete life in the countryside
Patricia and Marco chose a place in the countryside to call home and, thus, surrounded by the beauties of the countryside, they live a happy and peaceful life!
