Some questions and answers

What is a living/dining combo?

A combination of a living and dining area is an excellent option for those with limited space, as it allows you to maximize your floor plan. The design can work well in either a studio or one-bedroom apartment, giving you more options when selecting a home. However, before jumping into your design, be sure to take measurements of each space and make sure that they will accommodate both areas without any cutting corners.

How do I combine a small living and dining room?

Many home-owners and renters choose to combine a small living and dining room. If you’re considering making that same decision, there are some factors to consider first.

1- Where you’ll place your table and other furniture
2- How much space you have.
3- The number of people who will be using your space.
4- What sort of aesthetic you’re going for.
5- Whether or not there are certain design limitations to consider.
6- What kind of flooring is in your space? 7- Do you have a fireplace or other features you’d like to highlight?
8 -What’s most important to you; functionality, esthetics, or both?

Once you’ve considered these factors and made a few decisions about how to make it work, it’s time to get started. One of my favorite DIY projects is installing crown molding. It sounds fancy and complicated but it’s actually quite simple!

How big of a table can I fit in a 10×10 room?

The rule of thumb for a dining table is that it should be half as long as one of its dimensions. So, a 10×10 room can accommodate a five-foot table (which also allows enough space on either side for chairs)

Where should I keep my dining table?

You can’t go wrong with placing your table in front of a large window. Not only does it bring in natural light, but it’s also good for small rooms since you can use windows to frame your furniture and push back walls. If there aren’t any windows, try getting a mirror or painting to reflect some light from an adjacent space. This will make your small dining area seem larger, because mirrors and paintings don’t take up physical space.

What can I put in my dining room instead of a table?

For starters, a console or chest that doesn’t take up much visual space is a great alternative to a table. A sofa table could also work if you have space to set it and don’t mind it sticking out into your main living area.
