It took years of waiting until the house was ready. Beatriz and Leandro bought the apartment still in the blueprint, and in mid-2019, after a year of delay, they finally received the keys. During construction, there was no shortage of ideas to plan the new home, and Beatriz says that she always liked to decorate, tidy and organize. Among so many styles and options, the couple chose a search for a clean look and adopted the copper color as the darling of the house. See more:
Residence type: apartment
Area: 53 m²
City: Rio de Janeiro, RJ
Residents: Beatriz lives in the apartment with her husband Leandro and Bob, the couple’s pet. She has a law degree, but loves planning and decorating parties. She also confesses a penchant for photography, books, home decor videos and her love of fashion. He is a systems analyst and brings a more observant and centered profile. The resident highlights that her husband always helps her in her projects. Together, they share their decorating journey on their social profile, @nossoapecobre .
Differential: the apartment follows a more clean style, with a boho chic vibe. About the decoration of the space, Beatriz says, “what we hear most when someone meets us is that it conveys peace”. For her, the biggest challenge was to define this style, “I thought a lot about a more minimalist style, but I was opposed to the boho style”. So, she decided to combine the best of the two and pondered what she really wanted to feel and convey in her home decor.
Beatriz and Leandro’s Apartment
In the composition of the spaces, the copper color, straw items, different textures and the warmth of wood stand out, whether in furniture or objects. About the mix of styles, Beatriz says, “it gives that impression of a vacation spot, relax, relaxed, but tidy. It is not by chance that in this style there is a marble table”.
All white but not forever
The entire apartment is white and has porcelain floors, but Beatriz reveals that she has plans for transformations. “In the future we intend to use a vinyl floor following that idea of coziness, […] and I bought a paint to give a little color to an environment that I have not yet defined”.
Perfect union between elegance and warmth
The light and soft tones predominate in the room and together with the straw items bring warmth and a relaxed air to the space. The decoration also brings sophisticated elements with the Saarinen table and the boiserie, for which Beatriz reveals that she is very attached.
Christmas tree on the wall
She says that she loves special events, “I’ve already organized some parties, preparing everything from the stationery to the decoration itself, my bridal shower, […] a friend’s baby shower, grandma’s 90th birthday, family and friends parties…” Thus, for them, no celebration goes unnoticed. For Christmas, the resident prepared a different tree on the wall and put a lot of copper and rose gold ornaments on it.
Every corner of the apartment exudes comfort, without giving up a touch of elegance. She gives the tip, “a blanket can be responsible for bringing texture and even color, if your environment needs it”.
The charm of copper in the kitchen
More copper items bring charm to the kitchen decor. There are pots, appliances and many other culinary utensils with color.
Transformations for more functionality
Beatriz informs that the kitchen is currently undergoing transformations to optimize space and gain more functionality.
Closet for the couple
The apartment also has a closet for both. The light color, neutrality in the decoration and straw objects are repeated in the environment.
Delicate and passionate room
As in the rest of the house, softness and delicacy predominate in the master bedroom. Copper details add charm and personality to the decor.
Corner of ideas and work
In addition to the living room, it is in the bedroom where they spend most of their time. In this space, Beatriz organized a small home office, a corner for the two to be inspired, plan and work.
Decoration with meaning
She says that all the objects in the house have a special meaning and explains “when purchased, they are imagined in the composition of our home in a functional way”. Thus, all environments become unique with compositions that mix coziness, simplicity and a lot of elegance.
