Chris Martin shared the sweet reason he was on board with his daughter Apple, Le Bal Des Debutantes.
Martin, 47, said rolling stone in an interview published on Thursday, December 19, attending the event was “so not something I ever thought I would do, but because I'm so in love with her, I'm like, 'OK.'
At the ball, Martin shared a slow dance with Apple as part of his introduction into formal society. Martin was seen smiling and laughing while dancing and talking to his daughter as he twirled her, according to a TikTok shared by Paris Match. Apple smiled at this point.
The ball, which was held in Paris, was also an opportunity to spend time with his whole family. (Martin's son, Moses, is now in college but attended the event alongside his mother, Gwyneth Paltrowand grandmother, Blythe Danner.)
“A special long weekend in Paris 💙,” Paltrow, 52, captioned a photo carousel of the December 1st event.
While reflecting on his empty nest life, Martin said rolling stone that “it’s sad”. He added: “That’s the only word. But of course it would be weirder if they always said, “I can't leave.” Then you would be even more worried.
Martin said he loves his children “very much.” “Even though they're not biologically mine, I'm coming out with the story now,” Martin joked. “My favorite thing to embarrass my son is if we're walking down the street and someone comes up to us and says, 'I'm sorry for bothering you while you're with your son,' I said: “He is not my son. He's my partner.'
Martin laughed before adding, “Yeah. I like them very much. I think they're mine, to be honest.
The Coldplayer singer was married to Paltrow for over 10 years before splitting in 2014 and finalizing their divorce two years later. They have since been open about their dedication to co-parenting their children.
“Chris and I are committed to giving them first and it's harder than it seems because some days you really don't want to be with the person you're divorcing,” Paltrow said during 'an appearance in September 2020 on The Drew Barrymore Show. “But if you want to have a family dinner, do it. You take a deep breath, you look the person in the eyes, you remember your pact, you smile, you give a hug, and you recommit to this new relationship you're trying to foster.
Paltrow has since moved on with Brad Falchukwhom she married in 2018, while Martin went out with Dakota Johnson since 2017.
