If you've browsed Instagram, YouTube, or Tik Tok, you've probably seen tons of different fitness coaches and trainers, but how do you know if a trainer is legit?
Over the years I have seen hundreds of people start selling training and nutrition programs online with ZERO certifications, no experience training actual clients, and NO oversight.
This is not only misleading, it is dangerous.
Helping guide someone's training and nutrition is a HUGE responsibility and one I don't take lightly.
So let you train with me MOVE or choose another plan, here's why you should make sure it's with a certified personal trainer.
Why train with a certified personal coach?
A trainer certified by a nationally accredited program like NASM must complete intensive courses and testing to be trained in:
- Basic science exercises
- Science of human movement
- Fitness Assessments
- Program Design and Optimal Performance Training (OPT) Model
- Speed, agility and quickness training
- Good nutritional practices
- Customer interaction and professional development
Like many professions, we are also required to complete a certain level of continuing education to ensure we stay up to date in the latest techniques, research and training methods.
I have personally completed over 20 diverse training specializations including pre and postnatal training, agility, yoga and recently received new certification as a behaviorist. Change specialist NASM.
NOT ALL certifications are equal.
Whether you're looking for a trainer or want to get certified yourself, be sure to find a nationally accredited program.
This is really the only way to guarantee that it is 100% legitimate and meets the highest training standards.
THE National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) is one of the most respected and reputable companies and where I obtain my certifications.
If you want to deepen your knowledge or even become a trainer yourself, don't hesitate to consult them.
