Heisman Winner Travis Hunter, Leanna Lenee’s Relationship Timeline

When Travis Hunter won the 2024 Heisman Trophyhe had the best support system in his fiancée Léanna Lenée.

“Win-win chicken dinner,” Lenee wrote via Instagram in December 2024, sharing photos from Hunter's ceremony.

She added in a follow-up post: “They are crazy, make them even crazier!!! »

The Heisman is awarded each year to the best player in college football. In 2024, Hunter was nominated alongside Ashton Jeanty, Cam Ward And Dillon Gabriel. Hunter had been honored as a wide receiver and cornerback for the Colorado Buffaloes.

He even gave a sweet shout out to Lenee in his acceptance speech.

“I also want to thank my fiancée and my mother. They have been with me since the first surgery of my freshman year of college,” he exclaimed at the time. “They never backed down from all the hard hours, all the hard days, and all the times I didn’t want to wake up or even look at my phone. [or] watch football. You all stayed with me. I am very grateful to all of you.

March 2022

Hunter slid into Lenee's social media DMs months before she even opened the message.

“Travis I stayed in my DMs for two months because he texted me when he had a girlfriend,” she said in a TikTok video two years later. “I immediately knew he had a partner [from his Instagram bio]. So I left the message and he stayed there until he was single. I don't do demolition. I am not an afterthought. I am not defending any of these things. I support women. I would never do that to another woman because I would never want it done to me.

After they finally connected, Hunter and Lenee went Instagram official in March, sharing PDA photos from their Hawaii vacation.

February 2023

Lenee honored Hunter with a lengthy tribute on their first anniversary.

“You came into my life at the most unexpected time. I would constantly pray that God would give me a reason to keep moving forward so that I can fulfill His plan for me,” she said via Instagram. “That he would give me the motivation to keep going, and you were his answer.” You bring nothing but solidarity and peace to my life. You showed me how to be properly loved, and even how to love properly, for God knows I have tainted the definition.

She added: “You are the most patient and passionate man I have ever met. No relationship is perfect, but we have perfected the art of trying. We live together in our 3rd state now, and it's a life I wouldn't want to share with anyone else. You are the best friend and partner I have ever had. I love you sincerely and without limit.

Hunter suggested. just before Valentine's Day.

“A million times, yes 💍“, wrote Lenee via Instagram on February 4.

After getting engaged, Lenee continued to be a fixture at Hunter football games while wearing custom merchandise.

November 2024

Hunter made sure to honor his love's birthday, writing via Instagram“HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL I LOVE YOU❤️.”

December 2024

Lenee was at Hunter's side when he won the Heisman Trophy, a prestigious honor in college football.

“Showtime,” she captioned one TikTok video of their outfits.

Hunter wore a crisp blue suit, while Lenee opted for a mirrored strapless dress.

The ceremony sparked criticism online when social media users speculated that Lenee seemed agitated when Hunter took home the trophy. The athlete later refuted these claims, noting in a Twitch livestream that Lenee cried herself to sleep because of the backlash.

Lenee also denied being upset.

“People say I'm like, 'What am I supposed to do, sit here?'” Lenee said. in a TikTok video. “That's not what I said, first of all. I said, 'Baby, do you want me to sit here or do you want me to go with the family or do you want me to come with you?' Because what you don't know from a seven-second clip is that, by the way, they weren't fans.

She added: “He was done meeting the fans. I was there the whole time taking pictures, talking to them, everything. The girls who were there work for Adidas. So we were taking photos for a social post. That's who these people were. I wasn't bothered by the lack of fans. At all. I'm never annoyed by the fans.

Lenee further emphasized that she supports Hunter in “everything he does.”

“I really, really love this man,” she exclaimed. “He’s perfect in my eyes.”
