Kristen Doute opens up about her past relationship with James Kennedy.
THE Vanderpump Rules alum spoke about Kennedy, 32, during a Saturday, Dec. 21, episode of her podcast “Balancing Act,” which she co-hosts with her fiancé Luc Broderick.
“So I want to talk about something very briefly, it's going to start with a very unpopular opinion,” Doute began. “I'm sure many of you have been following the James Kennedy news about which I've been pretty tight-lipped.”
Doute noted that her heart “beats so fast when I talk about it”, saying she doesn't talk to Rachel “Raquel” Léviss “at all,” but she “read some things she talked about” about Kennedy. Doute added that she “resonated very much with some of the things Rachel has said recently.”
The Vanderpump Rules stars are no strangers to controversy. The staff at Lisa Vanderpump's West Hollywood restaurant SUR debuted on Bravo in 2013 as part of the spinoff Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Doubt was an original Vanderpump Rules actor and began dating Kennedy in 2014 before the couple split in September 2015. Doute has since moved on and is expecting first child with Broderick.
“I know I've said very little about the James situation at this point,” Doute said on his podcast, adding that it was “for good reason.” She noted that it was “triggering” for her, adding, “I've been struggling to express myself to help me heal, and I also need a break to maintain my peace during this pregnancy . »
Doute added that she “has things to say” and will respond to them soon, saying, “For now, I want to say: James Kennedy, domestic violence is not a 'hard time,' and for Ally: I hope you have all the support you deserve.
This is not Doute's first statement following Kennedy's arrest. On Thursday, December 12, she published an article about Kennedy's arrest. via his Instagram storywriting “Finally” in the caption.

According to police reports obtained by People, an anonymous woman said her “boyfriend picked her up and threw her to the ground.” Kennedy was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges.
“I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life,” Kennedy wrote via Instagram Story on Tuesday, December 17 following his arrest. “I take the time to focus on my sobriety, my personal development and my presence with my loved ones.” He also said that “going through difficult times is not easy, but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward with the incredible support system around me.”
In a statement to Us Weekly, Kennedy's attorney said they were “conducting our own investigation into the allegations made by the Burbank Police Department against James,” adding, “We understand that he There were no injuries and we hope that, after careful consideration, the city's lawyers will decide not to file formal charges.
