Warren “Dumbfounded” As Usyk Decisions Fury In Heavyweight Rematch

Promoter Frank Warren was sick to his stomach after his fighter, Tyson Fury, lost to unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk by 12-round unanimous decision Saturday night in their rematch in Riyadh.

Fury's rushed release

Fury then ran out of the ring, not wanting to face the music and have his feet to the fire to be grilled by the media. What does that tell you? If he thought he had won, he would have stood on his hind legs and complained about it.

The judges got it right, scoring for Usyk, 116-112, 116-112 and 116-112. I had it 10-2 in favor of Usyk. Even in the close rounds, Fury did nothing but throw backhands and weak punches.

Warren was “stunned” by the scores from two of the judges, who had Usyk (23-0, 12 KOs) sweeping in every round from six against former WBC heavyweight champion Fury (34-2-1 , 24 KO). The other judge had Fury winning just one round out of the final six.

I watched the fight and Usyk swept every round starting in the fifth round. This seemed easy to score, as Fury's reflexes seemed shot and he did almost nothing on offense. He looked afraid to throw punches, afraid of being countered by Usyk's sniper-like left hand.

The once-thin Fury who beat Wladimir Klitschko in his prime in 2015 is gone tonight. In his place was a flabby heavyweight in his forties, unable to pull the trigger on his punches.

The Gypsy King fought exactly as Wladimir, then 39, had fought him nine years ago. Wlad couldn't pull the trigger that night in Dusseldorf, Germany, and Fury was the same tonight. He was mentally locked away,

Stunned

“I am stunned. They gave him [Fury] four rounds out of twelve, which is impossible,” promoter Frank Warren told TNT Sports Boxing, complaining about his fighter, Tyson Fury, losing on the scorecards to unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch in Riyadh.

“I know I'm biased, but one judge didn't give him a single round from the sixth round. How is this possible? It's impossible. Same thing with the other judge here. He gave him a ride on the final six. It's the same thing here with this guy. It's crazy.

“I am calm, I am serene. I don't scream or scream. It's absurd. Everyone in the front row. Oscar De La Hoya and I got it [Fury] win by three or four rounds. It's Oscar and he's neutral. He only won one round out of two on the judges' scorecards starting in the sixth round. I mean, what fight were they watching? » Warren said, lashing out at the judges for not giving his fighter, Fury, the victory.
